Generate a solution to significant fouling issues in heat exchangers. Graphically demonstrated the effect of fouling on the heat transfer coefficient between the piping. Developed a backwash system proposal and strainer proposal to present to plant personnel to show the pros and cons to each solution. Evaluated each proposal with upper management and concluded on implementing the strainer proposal. Worked with plant safety advisors to improve upon operator personnel safety among different systems within the power plants. Developed proposals to improve upon the safety within the plant by offering more user-friendly controls to various operating systems. Developed proposals to implement heat tracing systems on various water lines at Talen Texas plants to prevent freezing in future cold spouts. With basic operating information of the piping line, calculated the necessary heat trace material needed to be used on the systems. Developed a proposal to install the heat trace on specific piping with freezing concerns. Worked on the high energy piping systems across eight different power plants. Integrated contractor hanger reports to identify areas of high concern for hanger replacements and repair. Developed isometric piping drawings which demonstrated movement of hanger positions, pinpointing areas of high concern.
