My time at CommunityAmerica exposed me to a wide variety of opportunities and angles in which to showcase our brand both internally and externally. Shortly after I joined the team, we became the Exclusive Banking Partner of the Kansas City Chiefs and signed Patrick Mahomes as our official spokesperson. As a trusted leader in the Marketing department, that means that I've not only stood on the roof at Arrowhead to capture content for an event, but I've worked with the MVP himself. While I have years of experience in the marketing communication world, this really upped the game.During my time at CommunityAmerica, I completely revitalized the social strategy to focus on humanizing our brand and single-handedly evolved the social care experience for our members. I'm also fortunate to have led a team of talented graphic designers and content creators, who believed that repping our brand was a downright honor. And I couldn't agree more.

As a Marketing Specialist at Linn Area Credit Union, I was pretty much the one carrying a lighter and a fanny pack full of firecrackers. While I utilized many graphic design skills (or skillz, if you're super rad), my sweet spot in this role was copywriting, content generation, and social media management. In 2013, the World Council of Credit Unions invited me to join their Build A Brand Workshop focusing on Gen Y and social media. After knocking their socks off, they asked me to present in an international webinar, which was attended by over 200 people in 20 countries. In 2014, the Credit Union Times named me a Trailblazer 40 Below. I was a featured panelist at a variety of credit union events for the Iowa Credit Union League, WOCCU and the Linn County Chapter of Credit Unions. My writing, graphic design, and overall marketing talents have help Linn Area Credit Union win many CUNA Marketing and Business Development Diamond awards for design and social media work. I served as the Vice President of my local credit union chapter for three years and assisted in planning the 2014 CUNA Marketing and Business Development Conference.

"A picture is worth a thousand words." Sure, I get it. But sometimes even pictures need a little razzle-me-dazzle. I spruced up a photographer's blog, taking clients' wedding stories and turning them into tiny little works of wordy art.

Imagine this: A creative person working full time in a legal department chockfull of attorneys. No, it is not the next Vince Vaughn comedy - though there were days it felt like it could have been. AEGON is where I had the opportunity to hone the ability to become shockingly detail-oriented and process driven. I spent my days preparing contracts and other legal documents as well as communicating with facility managers across the country, among other things. It should be noted that the legal department smiled a heck of a lot more once I came into the picture.
