Expanded upon prior responsibilities as AltSchool grew our Payroll team and began partnering with schools to offer our SaaS product externally.Payroll: - Managed all payroll operations for 180+ employees (Exempt, Non-Exempt and Contract employees) across 10+ jurisdictions - Partner closely with HR on federal, state and local compliance, benefits, reporting and strategy - Developed payroll policies and procedures to ensure regulation compliance and GAAP compliance - Oversee ACA reporting, W2s, quarterly and yearly payroll tax filings - Manage 401k and Worker’s Comp audits and San Francisco Gross Receipts and Payroll Tax filings - Led analysis around carrier renewals. Ultimately switched carriers after receiving a double digit proposed increase. Resulting switch reduced our health insurance costs over prior year.Revenue and Billing: - Own and manage billing for: 7 schools with 4 revenue streams as well as our SaaS 27+ platform customers with multiple revenue streams, billing schedules and widely differing licensing structures.- Reviewed Saas contracts before final execution to ensure compliance with company and finance team goals as well as operational needs - Tracked statistical data to drive unit economic calculations for financials - Research and prepare guidance regarding ASC606 Revenue Recognition standard and its impact on our SaaS revenue recognition. - Recognize revenue each month, prepare accruals, analyze bad debt, record all invoices and receipts per GAAP. - Work cross functionally with Sales and Customer Success teams to help develop policies, procedures and best practices.Other: - Co-Project managed consolidation of accounting systems from 4 disparate systems to Oracle Fusion.
