Oversaw Doorway to Health (DTH) and its community collaborative, the Children's Health Initiative of Santa Barbara (CHISB), from 2006--2016 while it covered 1,000 children throughout Santa Barbara County with a comprehensive medical insurance product, Healthy Kids Santa Barbara. CenCal Health was the medical plan, VSP was the vision plan and Premier Access was the dental plan for Healthy Kids SB.Tara Dooley also coordinated the Certified Application Assistor (CAA) network in Santa Barbara County that has decreased the number of uninsured children enrolled in public health insurance products by 94% since 2006 (CHIS 2009).Doorway to Health/CHISB's 09-10 evaluation showed that children go to school more regularly, utilize the Emergency Department less often and have more access to doctors and dentists than children without health insurance.Specialties: Linking children and families to no- or low cost public health insurance options and medical/dental services and providers.
