This is my first adventure in writing a book…I took my philosophy of bringing in mentors and supporters to make this book idea a reality. There were several friends who helped me brainstorm, edit, reorganize and generally tell the story I wanted to share.Who was on my team…There were many more people instrumental in supportive roles and I wish to thank all of my family and friends who contributed because they are part of my life. A book really is the sum of life experiences as much as it is about one specific topic so thank you to all of the people who have shared parts of my life, too.I was lucky enough to have my personal development coach, Marshall Sylver, write my foreword. Camille Blakey, from Blakely and Company created this beautiful cover design to capture my unique perspective as a pilot and educator as it relates to horses. UPDATE Feb 2024: I am now a Brigadier General in the Air Force Reserve.I graduated from the United States Air Force Academy and succeeded as a military officer meeting many challenges. I served in many capacities, as an aircraft commander flying C-130 cargo aircraft in combat zones, managing logistical systems world-wide and teaching biology to future Air Force leaders at the Air Force Academy. My personal superpower is problem solving. My critical thinking and planning skills have been honed through real-world experiences and are now directly benefiting my clients with specially tailored portfolios. I understand the value of building a strong team of experts and knows how to lead the team to achieve success.I began my Air Force Career in Logistics Plans in Florida and learned how to load airplanes and move people to the Middle East. My husband, Kris, and I met while we were both stationed at Yokota AB, Japan. Just after hiking Mt. Fuji, I found out I'd been selected for pilot training and that began my time as a C-130 pilot. We joking say I deployed and flew to "Pick-a-Stan" as it was interesting to be flying over parts of the world I'd only learned about in elementary school geography class. After supporting the Army back and forth to the Middle East, I went to teach biology at the Air Force Academy. I like to quote the Chief I worked with and say I was busy developing Future Air Force Leaders! Next, I transitioned from Active Duty to the Reserve and began working at Camp Smith, Hawaii as an Exercise Planner. I currently am the 96 Aerial Port Squadron Commander and also work for the Enterprise IT at the Pentagon HAF/A4. I am connecting commercial carriers with AF requirements to bring connectivity to our Airmen working from the front gate to the flightline. Our paperless environment needs applications, current devices and connectivity to bring it all together.
