CurrentTara J. Cohen, J.D. is a Director of The Mara Group. Prior to joining The Mara Group, Tara worked as a Managing Director of another leading search firm in Manhattan where she counseled and successfully placed attorneys of varying levels from a wide variety of practices at national and boutique law firms as well as companies, domestically and abroad. Tara was also the Lateral Attorney Recruiting and Development Coordinator for the New York office of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP. There, she was actively involved in the recruitment of partners and associates for the corporate, bankruptcy, litigation, employment, intellectual property, tax and real estate departments. Having experience on both sides of the search process gives Tara a unique perspective and broad understanding of the legal market, enabling her to facilitate successful placements and ensure an appropriate match.Tara earned her Bachelor of Arts, cum laude, from the University of Albany, State University of New York, and her Juris Doctorate from Albany Law School where she concentrated in business law and participated in Moot Court.
