I started on the floor in supportive housing and homelessness services. I have mostly had "catch-all" roles and I have enjoyed doing a bit of everything, but I am now looking to zoom in on more of a niche specialty and see what I can accomplish with more defined priorities and objectives. I excel at bringing order to chaos and calm to escalated environments. I am predisposed to having a big picture mindset and always work diligently to improve the systems we have in place so they are both more efficient and produce the desired impact. So often in non-profit services, things get out of balance due to a series of compromises. I remain focused on why we do what we do at all, and that is to help folks equitably as much as we can. Staying human-centered and optimistic about what we can accomplish by working together is key and I love building a team culture where everyone can thrive and succeed. I am currently exploring my options to make a big career pivot. I am not seeking employment at this time.

Program SupervisorCatholic Community Services Of Western Washington May 2012 - Jun 2015Women'S Wellness CenterManaged the Women's Wellness Center (WWC), a hygiene and day center for women experiencing homelessness in downtown Seattle. It was a peaceful little place where clients could take a shower, do some laundry, warm up with a cup of coffee, make a phone call, and get information or referrals to other social services. I hired, trained, and supervised a staff, recruited and managed a broad variety of volunteers and interns, fostered positive community relationships with our neighbors and donors, provided optional housing-focused case management to our clients, and I was responsible for the literal nuts and bolts of our facility. This program closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Housing Stabilization SpecialistCatholic Housing Services Apr 2010 - May 2012Case Manager for the Coming Home Project at Rose of Lima House and Dorothy Day House, both permanent Supportive Housing programs for previously homeless women. My clients were new tenants and it was my job to help them keep their housing and lay the foundation for long-term housing stability and self-fulfillment! Each client was served by Coming Home for their first year, when the risk for losing one's housing is highest, before being transferred to the building's permanent, ad-hoc support staff. During my time with Coming Home, I am proud to say that zero of my clients were evicted from their new homes.

Case ManagerCatholic Housing Services Jun 2009 - Apr 2010Graduated Housing was a pilot program designed to make the best use of limited housing resources. I identified and recruited previously homeless tenants of Housing First supportive housing programs and moved them into more independent, standard low-income housing programs. As their case manager, I assisted all aspects of applying, moving, stabilization in their new homes, provided interagency advocacy as well as in the community, while developing working relationships with management teams at six different Catholic Housing Services buildings and eight different Seattle Housing Authority buildings, understanding and navigating CHS and SHA policies and infrastructure, and providing contract reporting to our grantor, the City of Seattle. Ultimately, Graduated Housing was ended early, but I was still able to successfully meet program objectives ahead of schedule and under budget.
