About Tara Macgregor
I'm Tara, a digital marketing professional based in Edinburgh. As a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM) and a Chartered Marketer (CMktr), I have many years' experience in the ever-evolving world of digital marketing. I have honed my skills in various areas of marketing such as search engine optimization (SEO), marketing plan creation and executing successful marketing campaigns. I have also gained valuable experience in event management, social media management, creating marketing materials, blogging, copywriting, press releases, advertising, email marketing and market research. My attention to detail and organisational skills allow me to effectively manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. One of my all time favourite things is to be given a problem to solve and coming up with a marketing strategy to do just that. It could be increasing enquiry levels after they've unexpectedly fallen off a cliff or raising the profile of a company that offers brilliant products or services, but has just never managed to grasp a bit of the limelight.I used to run my own marketing consultancy in Edinburgh and before that I ran a virtual assistant business. I have also worked as an employee in the private sector as well as the third sector, which has given me a well-rounded perspective on marketing. I now work as the Head of Marketing for an adoption and fostering agency as well as being a Volunteer Management Consultant for Cranfield Trust.I am always eager to expand my knowledge and love learning about new marketing trends and techniques. It gives me a real buzz when I can apply what I have learnt in my free time in my work. For example, I've recently enjoyed learning much more about using AI for image, video and voice creation and understanding how AI can be used as a marketing assistant. I would say I have excellent communication skills and enjoy working as part of a team but am equally happy working on my own. I used to co-host E2N, a business networking group in Edinburgh, when I worked as a marketing consultant and always enjoyed networking with the delegates on the day and keeping in touch afterwards. When I'm not busy with work, you can find me cycling at Cramond, enjoying the fresh air (but hopefully not the rain!) and the incredible views or working on my latest knitting project - I am currently attempting to knit my first pair of socks. Let's connect and chat about all things marketing, and if you're an experienced knitter, how to turn that heel on my sock! 🧦
