Currently working in system change and design work, has been a whole career journey towards. Starting out as a youth worker in south auckland, growing into social work and then community development, struggling to accept the boundaries of what's possible to change within each of these roles. Incorporating my past experience, I am working currently to grow and alter systems in place; through enabling communities as much ownership and control in the creation and shifting of the systems and structures around them. Currently working at Auckland City Mission as the GM of Food Security - from food parcels to Kai Sovereignty. I also founded Rākau Tautoko in late 2016 as a small Auckland-based consulting social enterprise, and am still the managing director. We are a network of skilled, creative and like-minded practitioners. We enjoy collaborating and value doing high quality work that benefits communities. Rākau Tautoko creates supportive opportunities for community practitioners to develop their knowledge, skills, apply their philosophy and exercise appropriate accountabilities. The practitioners of Rākau Tautoko undertakes community research, community-related projects, community development advice, facilitation and leadership. My role in the group as the founder and managing director of Rākau Tautoko is to gather and support highly skilled and creative practitioners that are good people, doing good work in the community. We take on community projects that will make a difference for whānau in the communities we work within.

Youth Social Worker And Programme DevelopmentTe Waipuna Puawai 2008 - 2010Tāmaki, AucklandIntensive Social Work Practice with young parents in the community of Glen Innes, Point England and Panmure. Te Waipuna Puawai provided me with the opportunity to develop and build initiatives alongside young parents. This meant that I was able to co-design a programme with the young parents, and alter the programme with each group of young parents that entered the organisation. In this time, I also developed a young parent mentoring programme in collaboration with Thrive (then within The Auckland Women's Centre) and Brothers In Arms. This morphed into a Young Dads Group Mentoring Programme later on as well.
