I teach a course that delves into the fundamentals of graphic design within the undergraduate program (VIS207). The course covers visual problem-solving, and includes conceptualization, typography, layout, image editing, and production of print and digital platforms.I have also team taught a graduate-level version of the course Graphic Design Fundamentals (VIS 607) during the summer months.

The First Year Seminar (FYS101/SEM100) is a course engaging all first-year and transfer students in guided conversations, experiential activities, and written assignments about transitioning to Syracuse University (SU) campus life, exploring their identities as they situate themselves in a new context, and understanding how they will relate to and interact with other students, faculty and staff in contributing to a welcoming, inclusive, and diverse campus community. This course takes place each fall.

Recently, I spearheaded a course exploring architectural designs developed in response to extreme epidemiological events, including 14th century Black Death in Europe; 19th c. Cholera, Yellow Fever, and Smallpox epidemics in the U.K. and the U.S.; up to today's rapid responses to COVID-19. This course not only probed past innovations, but challenged students to employ their problem-solving skills in developing design proposals for use during a pandemic. Summer 2022, I taught a summer architectural design studio "Designing Duality" that I created to challenge students to interrogate Edmund Burke's theory of the sublime and beautiful as they work toward designing an integrated landscape and architectural intervention that centers around ideas of duality.During the academic year, I have also taught architectural design studios and guide thesis preparation students.
