The Associate Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, provides leadership in the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of diversity, equity, and inclusion programming and services for the college and brings an essential perspective to related policy initiatives. Working collaboratively with other college administrators, the Associate Vice President strives to advance commitment to equity and inclusion, serving as both leader and consultant in the effort to recruit and retain students of varied backgrounds and interests. The following positions report to this position: Director of Latino Outreach and Student Services, Director of Upward Bound, Director of Educational Talent Search, Director of Disability Support Services, Coordinators of Ready to Work, Coordinator of Work and Learn and the Senior Administrative Assistant. The Associate Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion serves as the Title IX Officer for students for the college.

Inaugural leadership role that reported to the president and worked collaboratively with the vice presidents and the president’s leadership team to promote a culture of inclusive excellence. Specific duties included: developing and implementing the college’s diversity plan; increasing the recruitment and retention of underrepresented faculty, staff and students; reviewing and developing policies that address issues of access, equity, and nondiscrimination; celebrating the diversity of the campus and the local community; building strategic partnerships at the local, state and national level; and providing training and workshops to increase cultural competency.

The Special Associate to the Vice President is a senior-level position in the division, serves on the division senior leadership team, and reports directly to the Vice President for Inclusion and Equity. Support on-campus and off-campus engagement activities that further the work of the Vice President, manage an array of special projects on behalf of the Vice President, represent the Vice President both on campus and in the community, and oversee operational, personnel and budget functions for the division.
