With more than 17 years of academic experience of working in various parts of the country, I have been involved in various clinical as well as surgical activities in the OMFS Department Being a researcher and a systems thinker I look for interconnectedness in understanding of disease through the lens of Biopsychosocial model .My main areas of interest are TMD management, Maxillofacial trauma, Early detection of Oral cancer and OPMDs and prevention of Oral Cancer, understanding benign pathologies and their management. My other interests are, working on online forum, called TK LIVE’s Making Sense of Maxfac where I engage with young maxillofacial surgeons and try and create a space for free expression of thoughts and ideas related to the field of maxillofacial surgery and impart quality education by inviting experts from world over, which is free and accessible to all through internet and YouTube channel. Am an advocate of patient safety and I work towards making hospital practice a safe.spaces for our patients through my online forum as well as real life off line work. Now based out of Goa and working towards developing hospital based practice as Consultant Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon at VM Salgaonkar Hospitals (Chicalim, Goa), Clinical Practice of Dental Implantology, Oro-facial Pain Disorders, Early Diagnosis of Oral cancer.ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE:• Guiding Post graduate students in Dentistry in their academic and clinical sections for various surgical procedures. • Guiding undergraduate students in Dentistry in their academic and clinical sections for various surgical procedures. • Clinical interactions, group discussions and demonstrations for students in Oral and Maxillofacial surgery in their training and academic program. • Final BDS as well as Post Graduate MDS examiner CLINICAL / SURGICAL EXPERIENCE:• Surgical Management of poly trauma patients. • Management of in-patients in the wards. • Management of patients in the O.P.D. • Taking classes and clinical demonstrations for the B. D.S. students and lectures for medical students in the Dental posting. • Guiding undergraduate students in formulating treatment plans and case discussions, case demonstration of minor and major oral surgery procedures. • Handled various cases like cancer, Tumor, Trauma, Orthognathic Surgery, TMJ surgeries & cosmetic surgeries independently.• Over seen graduate students in their surgical work.
