• Oversee research, writing, and submission of all grant requests, including Federal (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development), State of Ohio (Ohio Department of Development Services Agency), County (Summit County Department of Job and Family Services), City (City of Akron Department of Economic Development), United Way, Foundations, and Corporations, in excess of $1.1 million dollars in secured grants to meet agency budget requirements.• Support two annual agency events with development of marketing materials, utilizing social media, creating invitation lists, creating scripts and donor acknowledgement pieces, etc. (a breakfast and 5K run/1M walk), which engage over 500 unique individuals and raises over $180,000 annually for the agency.

• Resourceful problem solver. In multiple organizations, I have quickly taken a needs assessment, conducted research and due diligence, and subsequently secured funding and implemented actionable solutions. Example: At the Akron Urban League, I noted that the agency did not have a central database. I researched products, conducted interviews, secured funding for the capacity building project, assisted with the design of the database, and lead the staff implementation and training process. • Worked with diverse community partners to create new collaborations to address communityneeds, including initiatives with Austen BioInnovation Institute in Akron, Partnership for the Minority Business Accelerator (Akron SCORE and Kent State University), Summit County Department of Job and Family Services, and others (all of which increased AUL’s annual budget by 50%). • Oversaw and implemented fundraising initiatives including researching, writing, and submittinggrant requests to both public and private funders (over $700,000 annually); cultivated and stewarded individual donors and foundations/corporations; lead a community-member based leadership team for a debt retirement campaign ($2.4 million over four years); secured financial support to plan four annual agency-sponsored, revenue generating special events (net of over $75,000); and secured over thirty college scholarships annually for in-need high school seniors from corporations, higher education institutions, and individuals (in excess of over $70,000).

• Entrepreneurial program designer and fundraiser. I have demonstrated the ability to create programs based on research of community needs and have found funding through unconventional and alternative funding sources and collaborations. Example: While at Recovery Resources, I helped design, launch, and secure funding for a program that placed a social worker in the North East Pre-Release Center.• Enhanced due diligence process to ensure grant funds were properly spent by meeting with Program Managers and the Finance Department monthly, and continuously collecting data and success stories to produce meaningful grant reports.• Created marketing and fundraising materials including annual appeal pieces, bi-annual newsletters, Constant Contact email blasts, annual report, and event invitations.
