As the Head Advising Fellow at Matriculate, I spearheaded personalized guidance initiatives for underserved students, ensuring tailored support for their higher education journeys. I led efforts to establish innovative programs, collaborated with educators to foster equitable opportunities, and meticulously analyzed data to drive continuous improvement, resulting in measurable positive outcomes.

As an undergraduate researcher at Columbia's Mailman School of Public Health, I conducted a comprehensive investigation into the intersections of arrests, police inequities, and high school dropout rates within the school-to-prison pipeline. Throughout Barnard's rigorous summer research internship, I conducted a literature review, collaborated effectively with peers, and, guided by mentorship, crafted a unique research project. Leveraging R and Python programming languages, I analyzed data from the American Community Survey and administrative arrest records from the New York City Police Department. Employing innovative data analysis techniques, I devised a novel measure of excess racial policing across various age groups and ethnicities, revealing insightful connections between arrests and dropout rates. This research adds depth to conversations on social justice and equity, underlining my commitment to effecting positive societal change through meticulous coding and data-driven inquiry.

Studied sickle cell disease in search of a more equitable way to provide crucial blood transfusions and care. Using next generation sequencing, ELISA, flow cytometry, and several other biochemical techniques I examined the role of interferon and t-cell exhaustion in the immune systems of patients with and without sickle cell. This resulted in novel findings that suggested interferon along with several other microbial tags can be used to improve and target clotting in cancer and other health conditions.

Discussed varying academic experiences and created an educational summit with over 150 members internationally. Collaborated to create a brand new educational model and presented to UNESCO.

Pipetted, DNA replication, purification, and more to study the smallest flowering plant: Duckweed Landoltia to find a solution to growing algae and carbon dioxide infecting lakes and rivers. Published 5 unique DNA sequences for various proteins after purifying and using DNA sequencing systems.
