Experienced Speech Language Pathologist who specializes in working with children with autism spectrum disorders. In addition to my full-time job, I am an adjunct faculty member for the ASD licensure program at Hamline University. Also, published a children’s book about autism titled “My Best Friend Will”.In March 2019, I started Autism Little Learners about 6 weeks after I lost my dad to leukemia. My dad was one of my favorite people in the whole world. The grief was so deep and so raw after he died, I needed something to distract my mind from the pain so I decided to learn how to create my own resources for my classroom. I started my Teachers Pay Teachers store and made resources for my classroom, then uploaded them to TpT. The response has been wonderful, and shows me that I was not alone in wishing for resources that were appropriate for the littlest learners!In February of 2020 I started a blog, and shortly after that the Coronavirus Pandemic hit. I wrote a story about having to stay at home for a friend’s daughter. It really helped her daughter, so I posted the story on Facebook and on my blog...just in case anyone else could use it. That was the birth of my informational stories for children regarding COVID-19 and other relevant topics. The feedback has been phenomenal and it has shown me that we are all in this together...ALL of us...all around the globe.
