As a Senior Lewis Lecturer I teach interdisciplinary Honors courses, including our foundation seminar Knowledge and Society and upper-level Honors seminars in Gender Studies, Cultural Studies, and Literature. I also hold affiliate faculty status with the department of Gender and Women's Studies and the Center for Equality and Social Justice at the University of Kentucky. My disciplines of research and instruction include Women's and Gender Studies, Interdisciplinary Humanities, and English with a focus on 20th Century American Literature and Culture.

As the Assistant Dean of Diversity & Inclusion at Lewis Honors College, I work under the Dean of the Lewis Honors College and with the Lewis Diversity & Inclusion Advisory Council, which I chair, to facilitate equitable opportunities for student success; to foster a culture of belonging for all members of our community, with special consideration of members of historically underrepresented and minoritized groups, first generation undergraduates, and Appalachian students; to work with campus partners to provide sustained trainings of faculty and staff on issues of bias, discrimination, and inclusive excellence; to respond to community concerns with sensitivity, discretion, and respect; and to collaborate with other university entities to offer a rich array of programming that increases cultural humility and agility.

Taught WGS 201 Introduction to Women's and Gender Studies, WGS 302 Gender, Sexuality & Homophobia, and WGS 365 Women, Gender & Religion; taught UNP 300 Gender and Body/Language in Florence, Italy, for EKU Study Abroad

Developed and led the Honors Program; recruited outstanding faculty to teach in the program; recruited high academic achievers to join the program; collaborated across departments to implement innovative Honors courses. Taught Honors, Gender Studies, Liberal Arts, and English courses. Director of the Gender Studies Minor. Program Coordinator for Women's History Month and Black History Month. Taught courses in English, Women’s and Gender Studies, and Honors. Directed Honors thesis, HON 499. Served as faculty mentor for Girls Like Us, an organization for LBTQ+ students. Courses included: ENG 424 Genre Studies: Subgenres of Southern Literature, ENG 490 Literature and Gender: Other(ed) Writers of the Beat Generation, ENG 230 Reading and Writing about Literature, ENG 104 Freshman Composition II, ENG 205 World Literature I, English 206 World Literature II, and ENG 114 Honors Composition.

Taught HUM/WGS 303 Humanities Perspectives on Gender Roles, HUM 152 Cultures of America, HUM 102 World Literature II, and HUM 101 World Literature I.
