Over the 16 years, I managed a team of 2 to 7 employees. I was responsible for the in-house datacenter running a medical billing software package along with all of our in-house support servers. I implemented a “greener” environment by consolidating physical servers to virtual servers using Vmware VSphere 4.x and 5.x for MS Windows / Linux solutions and PowerVM for iSeries. I managed the entire infrastructure including, but not limited to, server applications such as document imaging, AD and Exchange, PeopleSoft / DB2 servers, iSeries OS, etc. I collaborated with our IT and programming staff in order to meet business goals and assisted with connectivity with HL7 interfaces, implementation of new products, EDI submission, and custom program interfaces. I supported 100+ VPN connections using Cisco products to maintain HIPAA security standards. I also supported all MEDTRON installed client hardware such as Cisco routers, IBM iSeries Servers, printers, etc. Recent projects included (but not limited to) implementation of the MEDEHR (Electronic Medical Records system - an AWS cloud based web application) and setup and testing of Vmware HA using SAS shared storage. Other duties included, but not limited to, management of in-house and customer routers, switches, telecom including VoIP, WAN and LAN connections.

I managed the technical startup and setup of the “Tenetlink” Project for IMS Medacom/Kinetra/Healtheon/WebMD account including installation of proprietary interface engines at various TENET hospitals along with setup and support of client software at physician clinics. I was also a regional resource for planning and implementation of complex network setups of proprietary software in other business units.

I was responsible for managing a 12+ technical department including, but not limiting to, budgeting, scheduling, managing training, performance evaluations, and hiring. I developed and trained technicians in computer repair, software installs, networking, and customer service. I received the “Service Center Manager of the Year” award for outstanding performance (1996). I strategically met business objectives and enabled revenue growth by turning around a $-6000 IT Dept to $180,000 in profit in less than 3 years.
