For the SHJ I am the System Production Technician I currently handle all levels of help desk support, Lotus Notes configuration (instant message, email, and troubleshooting), Altiris administration, level 2 network issues (such as switch configuration, cable creation, network drops, patch panel repair, and switch closet organization. I also help end users or customers with VPN access, set up their outlook for POP3 access and configure their Blackberries or other cell phones for use with work. I configure new servers as they arrive and assist with the shipping when they are needed at other NY Times locations. I assist other techs in different locations over the phone or through remote desktop.
