Facilitates the work of government in an orderly, efficient and citizen-friendly manner; serves as the liaison between City Council and the administration to ensure a smooth work flow and timely citizen response; Ensures the City's legislative processes are open and public by providing a link between citizens and city government through the dissemination of information.-Serves as Clerk to City Council; schedules and attends meetings; prepares legal advertising and sends out required notification of meetings; processes minutes, recording all recommendations, motions, directions and concerns; answers City Council related questions; works with members in updating sections/language of the Rules of Procedure.-Drafts and finalizes legislation such as ordinances, resolutions, statutory resolutions, motion resolutions from information supplied by department heads; attaches accurate exhibits to legislation; prepares official copies of legislation for signatures by President of Council, Mayor and City Attorney once passed; arranges distribution of signed legislation to appropriate individuals.-Serves as Clerk to the Board of Zoning & Building Appeals, City Planning Commission, Council Committees, and special appointed committee/commission meetings. Assures minutes and agendas are prepared in a timely manner, legal notification is provided as required by code, adequate coverage at meetings is provided. -Researches, records, certifies and files legal and legislative documents as required by law or by request from various entities such as county offices, developers, individuals, etc.
