Tariq Abdullah is the Principal Architect, and CEO of TARCHITECTS, the architectural design firm he developed to provide architectural solutions that seek to maintain and enhance the urban environment, particularly as it relates to education. Serving as the bridge between the architectural and social fabrics of communities is part of Mr. Abdullah’s life work. Mr. Abdullah is a philanthropist. He seeks to be a benefactor within every community he is a part of. Most of his work as a philanthropist is done through the Tarchitects Foundation for Architecture and Design (TFAD), his architecture firm’s tax-exempt nonprofit. He hosts internship opportunities regularly at his firm and offers Design Fellowships for both architecture students, and recent graduates from the architecture programs at Georgia Institute of Technology, Savanna College of Art and Design, and Kennesaw State University. The latter of which is where he continues to give back, and remain connected to academia by serving as an adjunct Architectural Design Studio professor. Mr. Abdullah is a Registered Architect (RA), and is a distinguished member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), as well as the National Organization of Minority Architects (NOMA). He has received multiple awards for his works in the industry by both AIA, NOMA and the American Architectural Foundation (AAF) as early in his career as 2005 and as recent as 2019. The AAF labeled his youth architectural program curriculum “A program of national distinction”. In addition to running his firm which has designed hundreds of commercial and mixed-use facilities nationally, his foundation (TFAD) has developed the nation’s first primary school for architecture and design-thinking. The Community Academy for Architecture and Design (TCAAD). What keeps Mr. Abdullah going everyday is building an architectural firm as a legacy for his 3 youngest children who all plan to be architects. That, and knowing that what he dose everyday helps other families and entrepreneurs dreams come true. This is what empowers him to bring his best to your project everyday.https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/26/nyregion/charter-schools-democrats.html
