I teached textile crafts in class teacher education. We did several interesting and creative projects with students. In basic studies students learned the craft techniques in material exercises as well as experimenting with digital printing and laser cutting. They also learned about ideation, design and making process in their own course project. In advanced studies students had courses for product designing and expressive designing. In both of these they were first familiarised with theoretical underpinnings and current themes in the field. The rest of the course included their own projects.
Part- Time Design Teacher
I was responsible of the milliner-, tailor-, interior- and dress making students' design teaching. The teaching included guidance to the basics of the visual expression with different techniques such as drawing and aquarelle. Students practiced to illustrate different textile materials, proportions of human and apparell. Students also got to know the basics of the design process and designing for the customer(s) in the project type of tasks.
