What's On Oslo is a print-based English-language guide magazine with information about cultural events, activities and related issues in Oslo. It is Oslo's largest monthly magazine by print run. I write articles, the editorial, edit the contributions of other writers, correct grammar and spelling in the entire magazine, and cooperate on general issues related to the development and running of the magazine together with colleagues.

This is a language school which currently offers group and private classes in Norwegian for adults. It was founded by a colleague and I. My main job is to market the school and maintain contact with students, our teachers, people we use to spread some non-internet marketing messages, and organisational partners. Marketing involves following up people that hang up posters for us (containing messages I have created), as well as me personally managing AdWords campaigns, a Facebook page, some search engine optimisation (SEO), other online marketing channels, and "sponsored content". This was an online, interactive language program/school where students could learn Italian. It was founded by two colleagues and I. My job was to maintain contact with students and the media, and to market the course via channels such as AdWords, SEO, Facebook and traditional poster advertising. As one of the founders and the head of the board, I was also intimately involved in many of the tasks association with starting a small company with few colleagues, including project management and project coordination.

In Visit Oslo's tourist magazine What's On Oslo I sold all the advertising space and wrote most of the editorial content (mainly short articles about cultural events). Together with the magazine's editor at Visit Oslo I decided upon issue themes and front page cover designs. Visit Oslo outsourced production of What's On Oslo to the media company Tellus Works, which was my employer.

Freelance print journalist for Norwegian newspapers (Aftenposten, Nordstrands Blad, Akersposten, etc) and the news agency Inter Press Service (where i wrote English-language in-depth articles).As a news and feature journalist I have covered many different topics, ranging from local issues in Oslo to international politics, development, violent conflicts, the weapons industry and environmental issues. In local news I have a specialisation in political and cultural issues related to Oslo. When it comes to international issues I have a specialisation in politics, conflict issues, the environment, and also in Africa (particularly East Africa and the Horn of Africa).

Here I was an employee (not a freelancer) writing articles for several local newspapers in Oslo with the same owner (Edda Media). I mainly worked at the newspapers Lokalavisen St. Hanshaugen, Lokalavisen Frogner, Akersposten and Nordstrands Blad. Later some of these local papers were called dittOslo ("yourOslo"), with local editions. Website: www.dittoslo.no. The online newspaper has now been taken over by and integrated into Nettavisen, and several of the print newspapers have been discontinued.
