The Restorative Practices Coordinator will work to support the process by which students and adults develop skills to repair harm in relationships and build a stronger sense of community within the school. The Restorative Practices Coordinator is responsible for building the capacity of Kuumba staff through coaching, supporting and holding accountable KACS staff to effectively implement a continuum of restorative practices and systems to reduce the rate of suspensions and expulsions.

Responsible for working with staff & School Safety to address infractions of the citywide discipline code Engage with staff and students in restorative practices after infractions Facilitates coordination and communication between all stakeholders to grow restorative practices at BCS Meets with students to process incidents and help them develop effective communication skills Serves as a member of SLT attending cabinet, PTA meetings, and leadership team meetingsOversees lunch duty and works with lunch duty staff to create a safe lunch period Supports staff & students in their use of restorative practice, models group facilitation and runs small group
