Identified novel short ORFs translated from lncRNAs and validated if their short ORFs are translated to discover the function of new small peptides.

Confocal microscopy and Igor Pro, allowed me to detect an almost 2.5-fold decrease in the mean amplitude of glutamate released at synapses after treating hippocampal cultures with gabazine for 2 days.

Optimised antibody production and cell line viabilities by performing sterile manual and automated cell culturing methods, which also prevented cell culture contaminations. Analysed antibody titer and CHO cell viabilities to monitor and assess multiple clones with the aim of identifying lead cell lines so project progression was maintained. Conducted experiments to assess the effects of different transfection methods in varying culture conditions on CHO cell viabilities and antibody titer production. This data allowed development of potential protocols to expedite workflow and potentially reduce project timelines. Performed molecular cloning and transfections of GSK monoclonal antibody plasmid constructs into CHO hosts to identify lead cell lines for manufacture. Assisted colleagues in single cell sorting and telomere-FISH experiments to maximise work efficiency and help keep to industry timelines.
