I was born and raised in the Northwest Arkansas area; where I also attended the University of Arkansas for a BFA in Graphic Design. Before and while I was in school, I designed too many posters and album covers to count. This naturally transitioned into a fascination with branding and how values, ideas, or goals were translated visually. As a designer I would consider myself and my style as functional humanist. Every piece I create follows the same rule:All visual elements must serve a greater purpose, to further tone, brand autonomy, or richer communication of the core values of the piece/brand/organization. I’ve worked through this lens for over 10 years, for a variety of projects encompassing community outreach, E-commerce, visual direction of multinational brands, and everything in between. I believe design is powerful. It has the ability to raise awareness for underserved communities, influence consumer habits, and smooths communication of complex or abstract ideas. But beyond all of that, at it’s core graphic design is the tool to help people communicate with other people, and that is why I fell in love with it.
