Responsible for Electrification & Plant, Signalling, Track, Off Track and Maintenance contracts with various Suppliers across the Supply chain for Works Delivery and Maintenance Delivery units across Wessex Route.• Managing the process of assessing and processing applications for payments across the portfolio.• Developing the Procurement strategy for various framework agreements in consultation with the Operational and Procurement teams.• Responsible for financial and business forecasts to facilitate accurate budgets• Leading negotiations with clients and contractors including commercial disputes.• Reviewing variations and claims. • Representing the Contracts & Procurement team at the Works Delivery Periodic Business Reviews. Undertaking make or buy analysis• Carrying out final account settlements and internal reconciliations for project close-out as per project authority, project plan and within agreed timescales.• Managing a team of Commercial Managers, coaching and mentoring them to achieve their professional goals.• Responsible for drafting and presenting change papers to the Regional Commercial Panel for approval.• Post contract Lead on the presentation of Strategy and award papers to Regional Commercial Panel in conjunction with the Procurement Team.Key achievements:• Manage various contracts for Works Delivery and Maintenance Delivery Units in Wessex Route (eg. Contingent labour, on track plant, Signalling minor works, Project Management, Professional services, E&P minor works, Pway minor works and renewals, Vegetation, Drainage etc)– circa £60m.• Make or Buy analysis for the Occupational health contract. Recommendation agreed by the Route Executive panel.• Completed the Network Rail Senior Leadership Programme.

Responsible for Pre and post contract management activities covering Services and Works contracts across a wide range of portfolio for various internal clients in Wessex Route (Works Delivery, Operations, Maintenance)• Agreeing the Sourcing strategy, tender documentation, Supplier selection with internal stakeholders and getting approval from the Commercial panel.• Tender evaluation and award.• Develop and update contracts to reflect agreed terms for final award to successful bidder.• Manage all contract and scope changes, ensuring that any cancellations and or additional works arising from design development and scope changes are properly assessed and valued in accordance with company processes, contractual terms and conditions.• Day to day management of all commercial correspondence and contractual notices issued, ensuring that the company’s contractual position is clearly defined.• Conduct valuations of contractors’ applications for payment and processing of payment, challenging all cost elements where appropriate and ensuring valuations are consistent with agreed site progress• Overseeing the hiring, training, and professional growth of employees including monthly meetings and performance reviews.Key achievements:• Undertook the Pre and Post Contract Management of £14m project for DC cable doubling works.• Managed the Wimbledon District Line contract. (circa £1m per annum)• Conducted a Sourcing activity for the Train Operating Company for a vegetation framework.
