As a champion project leader,1. Developed a kitting system to supply parts to the assembly line efficiently making a robust material flow. This was a cross-functional team effort.2. Implemented Milk run to deliver small parts and Brake pads from one part of the plant to the respective caliper assembly lines continuously for all 3 shifts for all days of the week.3. Led the project with the plant manager to reorganize the entire raw material area so that all the incoming parts of the different models can be directly received from the supplier to our plant. 3.1. This helped us to cut costs significantly by making the overall value stream lean.3.2. It ensured a linear flow of forklift drivers to retrieve the respective parts & improved space utilization.4. Improved material handling for several caliper lines and one suspension line emphasizing material flow, productivity & operator ergonomics with savings of over $4000.5. Conducted multiple training of line supervisors, team leaders, and production managers to create standardized documents for their respective production lines.

Working for Mahindra Rise was one of the best learning experiences for me where apart from enhancing my technical skills I improved my people skills as well.Mahindra and Mahindra is one of the largest automobile manufacturers by production in India.Project Title: Total Quality Managment and Prototype development for Mahindra KUV100 Vehicle • Achieved a 95% reduction of Vehicle development concerns for Mahindra KUV100 by bringing it down from 450 to 24. The concerns involved most of the vehicle components with their own failures and failures due to interacting with other components as well.• Accomplished this project within a span of four months by diligently implementing lean principles of 5S, 5 Whys, Kaizen through collaboration with suppliers and teams from different vehicle development departments. • Eliminated bottlenecks in the processes by facilitating the logistics on the shop floor using Value stream mapping, MRP and Kanban for vehicle development through direct interaction with suppliers, accelerated its delivery to different plants across the country for testing purposes.

Project Title: Prototype development for Mahindra C101 vehicle• Prepared a detailed plan for the ten month-development cycle of the prototype along with developing its PFMEA during the concept stage.• Designed the external and internal BIW parts for the test prototype using CATIA.• Designed the central console and floor console for C101 using CATIA along with a novel mechanism for water drainage facility for umbrella holder. Successful implementation seen in the models launched.

Tata Motors is an Indian multinational automobile manufacturer, one of the largest vehicle manufacturing companies by volume in the world.• Balanced the frame stand and chassis line of the J-13 Tata Xenon assembly line by shuffling the operators and operations by bringing the operating time close to the Takt time of 760 sec./unit.• Saved the company $70 per vehicle by modifying the route connecting the vacuum modulator and the EGR valve for 207 DI BS4 vehicles prohibiting the contact of the Hose with the high-temperature exhaust manifold.• Facilitated implementation of AIS 047 automotive industry standards and On Board Diagnostics-II on all the interior fittings in 207 DI vehicles.

Department: 4SP Engine assembly line• Established a Kit system and a supermarket for the 4SP Engine assembly line using Kaizen and Poka-yoke to deal with issues like wrong fitments, excessive inventory, excessive operator movement leading to fatigue and congestion.• Saved the company $200 per day by bringing the faults down from 25 faults per day to 4 through rectifying the Air Compressor Belt failure on the 4SP Engine Assembly line. Failures occurred due to poor quality of Belts, Improper fitment and wrong belts being used for different types of Engines.• Performed the ‘Time and Motion Study’ for sub-assemblies of Fuel injection pump, Turbocharger, Cylinder head in the same department eventually leading to small scale optimization of the processes.
