At TEFL Portal we offer 120-hour theoretical and practical TEFL courses to people wanting to teach English internationally. Our course is facilitated in-person and as part of a group on Zoom, with a trainer with over 10 years of experience in the TEFL industry. Most other course providers simply send material to be read through alone. We wanted to offer much more than that. Our course also provides actual teaching practice as participants prepare and present lessons to their peers and receive feedback from both their peers and trainer.

I offer life coaching programs and workshops to schools and teachers in order to empower, uplift, and motivate educators to be their best teacher selves. All techniques that teachers learn in the workshops can be used with their students too, to empower them and provide them with skills that will serve them for a lifetime.

I teach English Literature, US History, and US Government remotely to high school students in China, Vietnam, and Azerbaijan. Throughout my career, I have always continued to teach because I am passionate about empowering students and giving them the tools they need to navigate their lives successfully.Being a teacher means you get to make a positive difference every single day.

Balboa International Education provides a dual diploma program and service to existing schools in various countries, as well as to individuals online, where non-native English middle and high school students can experience an authentic American education, earning them both a US diploma, as well as one from their home country. Our program is specifically aimed at non-native English speakers who want to study abroad, and particularly in America. Not only do they learn the same curriculum as is taught in the US, they also receive life skills training on how to adapt to western culture, society and study. We also have an option for students to physically go to the US and study at our Balboa School in San Diego. We assist with all aspects of study abroad, including college entry essays, clubs, college applications and college counseling. Our services extend to once the student arrives in the US, as we give advice and set our students up with a support base. High school scholarships to our San Diego school are given to outstanding students. I love working with this program, because it's a program with substance, a program that can truly make a difference, and a program I believe in wholeheartedly. - Assisting new owners with school startups, assessing and rectifying potential problems and troubleshooting;- Training teachers (both Chinese and foreign), front desk and marketing staff, as well as advising owners and managers and assisting with effective decision making;- Visiting schools which were not performing well and diplomatically bringing them up to standard;- Visiting schools on request of the franchisees to assist with particular problems they might be having;- Visiting schools around China as a representative of the franchise department;- Acting as substitute teacher and/or manager;- Assuring schools adhere to franchise standards;- Intensive marketing (with great success);- Giving demos to prospective students and their parents and interviewing students for placement;- Ascertaining training needs and designing and giving workshops;- Classroom observations;- Making recommendations for further improvements to the schools;- Making recommendations for the promotion of staff within the company;- Support to foreign teachers in remote areas;- Advertising for and recruiting of foreign teachers;- Creating new training programs and PPTs.

- Teaching English as a foreign language to students from age 3 to adult, between 3 and 20 students per class;- Extensively researching online media for creative ideas to enhance the learning experience, creating PPTs and creating exciting, interactive lessons to fit the IPA (Introduce, Practice and Activate) standards using TPR (Total Physical Response) techniques;- Working together with Chinese teachers to create flowing lessons between our classes;- Creating flashcards and props for the classroom;- Use of classroom Hiteboards;- Facilitating English Corners;- Facilitating craft classes and festival events (Christmas, Spring Festival, etc) ;- Facilitating entrepreneurs day;- Regularly assessing student progress throughout the semester and giving oral exams twice a semester and writing reports;- Giving demos to prospective students and their parents and interviewing students for placement;- Being motivator, listener and adviser to my students;- Giving cultural workshops;- Being outsourced to primary schools, teaching students from Grade 1 to Grade 5;- Working sometimes from text books, other times designing and creating a syllabus to suit that school’s specific needs;- Maintaining and keeping the attention of classes of 60 students per class;- Giving oral exams at the end of each semester.
