I have over 20 years of experience in education and am passionate about an integrated approach to people development. I started my career as a high school educator in innercity London. (The movie, Dangerous Minds, best sums up that life altering experience) When I came home to South Africa after my European sojourn, I started a sales and marketing job in the financial services industry. My yearning to teach hadn't waned, so I set about searching for a role where I could use my teaching passion and incorporate newly acquired corporate experience. I was appointed as a Learning Facilitator, teaching new entrant Financial Advisors. I performed this role for five years before progressing to a Learning Performance Consultant role.My current role broadly covers consultation with senior leaders regarding development and skills needs in their regions and developing learning material.After delivering (personally) the agreed upon plan of action, I assess transfer of skills and knowledge and report back to the business. I also develop, update and deliver a blended 'in house' Leadership curriculum to new leaders in the four business that comprise Personal Finance.I have a keen interest in how Engagement is a key driver for a contended workforce (and drives sales results) amid a rapidly evolving landscape.
