Statistical Research: Data Management and Analysis. This is a hybrid class, taught partially online, with a 3 hour in person lab component.

Responsible for establishing and maintaining diabetes surveillance systems to assess disease burden and program successes; performing epidemiological analyses of health factors related to diabetes; and evaluating diabetes prevention, education, and quality improvement programs to determine intervention needs and effectiveness. Primary comprehensive surveillance systems and databases include the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, Vital Statistics, Hospital Discharge Data System, Medicaid claims, and survey data. Worked with program staff and stakeholders to develop and implement an evaluation plan for program activities and outcomes. Responsible for creating surveillance reports to communicate the results of analyses on clinical and public health issues to professionals.

Worked under Kristin Peterson Oehlke on genomics projects involving collecting family history and attributing disease risk. Also analyzed WISEwoman data and produced a short report.
