I am an experienced litigator and counselor specializing in intellectual property and the life sciences. I have served on landmark decisions in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology sectors, including defending clients against some of the largest damages claims made to date. I employ a holistic approach in my practice. As an advocate, advisor, and confidante, I develop innovative legal strategies and support my clients for the long term. In the courtroom, I’m known for my confidence and creativity. (I’m not intimidated by a crowd. I even worked as a fitness instructor while putting myself through school.) I aim to ensure that my clients—including individuals, midsize organizations, and multinational corporations—are well-positioned to solve their legal challenges. I came to IP law while obtaining my Ph.D. in Chemical Biology, which exposed me to the role of patents in drug development. I was just as intrigued by the legal implications as the scientific discoveries. Now, I carry the same inquisitive spirit into my legal career: I challenge myself to understand the law and the science that influences each client’s business. This approach enables me to quickly identify the heart of a case and find unexpected solutions. I believe pro bono work is critical to the equity of the legal system; it is also a foundational aspect of my professional mission. From commuting a client's sentence on death row to volunteering as a certified mediator, I’m eager to support my local court system and fellow community members.
