I speak on these topics from a combination of my own experience with mental health issues, as a professional working and teaching in this area and based on current research and empirical evidence. * Keynote presentations at industry-wide and global conference events* Internal organisational development sessions* Leadership days and retreatsAs a topic, mental health and wellbeing can still be either a taboo, or is often approached in a formulaic way. In working with your delegates I engage them through an approach that clients describe as inspirational, funny and positively provocative, to create a real and lasting impact on your delegates. Team Leader, Psychiatric Vocational Rehabilitation ServicesWorkright Wa Inc 2000 - 2005Workright WA was the only psychiatric specific employment service in Western Australia. We worked with individuals with a primary psychiatric diagnosis (anxiety, depression, schizophrenia, bi-polar disorder) to assist them to overcome their functional barriers to employment. This required an individualised approach to understand the way a person’s illness impacted on their functioning and then designing interventions to support them to meet their goals. This role entailed working with employers at colleagues at times to educate them about workplace mental health issues and to combat stigma and misunderstanding. As a Team Leader I managed a team of mental health professionals to work directly with the clients.
