I’ve spent over 20 years in the startup world, wearing many hats including extreme full-stack engineer, founder and engineering manager, and executive coach.I've always loved technical writing, too. I've written a dozen posts that have hit #1 on Hacker News over the last 3-4 years. I write about DevOps, security, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), and other engineering topics. For me, writing is learning, and that's what makes it so satisfying. As an executive coach, I've helped founders at Singularity U building exponential startups, engineering managers and CTOs at rocket ships, and ICs at places like Google and Pivotal as they navigated job and role changes. As co-founder and head of engineering at Trove, I built and led the engineering team as we grew from seed to series B.As employee #8 at Zipcar, I built and refined the technology that made car sharing as easy as using an ATM, and scaled it up from 25 cars in Boston. Everything from the web reservation system, backend systems, and in-vehicle microcontroller firmware. I wrote the code that opens your Zipcar. My projects have been featured in the New York Times, Dwell, Paper Magazine, Studio 360, the New Yorker blog, Hacker News, and Fast Company.
