Re-factored and implemented complex QMRA models from the FDA into the developed repository. Supported the development of harmonized terminologies for the description of predictive microbial models and quantitative microbial risk assessment models. Collaborated closely with the Risk Assessment Modelling & Knowledge Integration Platform (RAKIP) community.

Microbial risk assessment of waste water from cheese production. In collaboration with five Danish dairy companies. Next-generation sequencing (NGS) techniques and traditional cell culture methods are optimized with the goal to detect and characterize bacteria in waste water.

Title “Microbiota analysis for disclosing potential pathogen growth in food”.Optimized a Illumina MiSeq 16S rRNA gene sequencing procedure, which included DNA extraction procedures, primer design, PCR optimization, quantitative real-time PCR, and PCR amplificate purification. Analyzed next generation sequencing data with advanced bioinformatics tools in R. Microbial cell counts were analyzed in Microsoft Excel and mathematical models for growth predictions of bacteria were developed. Learned to manage PhD project with high degree of independence and responsibility.
