Selected to lead 10-12 high school students on two, three-week, backcountry and mountaineering excursions in Tanzania, Africa -- providing opportunities for them to learn the power of teamwork, service (Arusha orphanage) resilience, responsibility, and trust - while also developing an appreciation for native cultures and the environment. Led three, international, two-week long hiking trips for 12 high school students under extreme backcountry conditions collaborating closely with co-leaders and the Overland headquarters to overcome logistical challenges, manage budgets, resolve group conflicts, and provide a safe, inclusive, positive, growth experience for our students that fostered teamwork, resilience, and an appreciation of and respect for Nature.After injuring my knee, I returned to Overland Headquarters and was selected to liaise with the Maine Game Warden and Search & Rescue to retrieve a 15 year-old who found himself lost in the backcountry (Grafton Notch - Oxford Country, Maine).

Led student efforts to support Bates College Admissions, including Partnering with College Deans as a Bates ambassador and speaking on Admissions panels and at on-campus events. Led weekly, hour-long, unscripted information sessions and student tours for prospective students and their families. Corresponded daily with counselors, parents, and prospective students via phone, email, and social media to promote the college and facilitate the resolution of any admissions concerns.
