At Taste Food and Beverage, I was a member of the team that launched the upscale restaurant brand, Sapa Istanbul. I played a significant role in the establishment, including initial investment, construction, interior design, and setting up efficient systems. With 20 employees, Sapa Istanbul offers a unique dining experience with a focus on wood-fired seasonal dishes. As a Tax Associate at Andersen Tax & Nazali Tax/Legal Firm, I was part of the Audit Division team responsible for visiting companies to assess their record-keeping and compliance with tax regulations. Project Remit: Design a Smart Home device to reduce the use of energy resources within the home. Process: Formed a self-created team of 7 inter university participants (Sabanci-Bilkent–ODTU) to research devices already on the market, potential improvements to the software and conducted market research with prospective home users. Results: Create and then enhanced a prototype smart home device that reports on the consumption of water, electric and gas within a household providing instant feedback to change consumer behaviour and save valuable resources.

Project Remit: Design a solution to Automated Guided Vehicles production line delaysProcess: Researched operational issues causing delays and brainstormed potential improvements. Results: Created and applied an improved algorithm to existing age code resulting in a vehicle now selecting the shortest path despite various constraints and making the decision itself how to prioritise jobs to reduce production line delays.

Project Remit: Positioned within the Sales department working on a customer satisfaction, profit, and quality project to reduce customer claims from transportation delays and shipment damage.Process: Reviewed the existing process for claims which had no set methodology or targets and classifying them in respect of the cost of purchase, manufacturer and transportation. Collaborated with manufacturers, metallurgical engineers, and chemical engineers to discuss potential improvements to global shipping and chemical application to improve steel coverage for durability. Results: • Claim numbers have decreased securing long-term contract continuation. • Completed the project successfully within eight weeks with the results delivering positive profitability and change implementation for both company and manufacturer. • Increased customer satisfaction following report information sharing including the methodology that continues to be used for effective claim handling. • Completed a selection of side projects to facilitate administrative process improvements including new business pipeline sourcing, conducting warm and cold sales calls and assisting with office database, documentation, and organisation.

Project Remit: Delegated a project assignment to discover the reason for increased waste due to the number of unmachined materials caused by inefficient operations.Process: Researched the manufacturing process by observing machine operators processes and specifications, asking questions and discovering a lack of automation and upsurge in human error. Calculated the loss of profit figure and created a supervision mechanism to reduce operator initiative errors by forming more basic criteria. Results: • A successful decrease in uncoated and wasted materials.
