Bethlem Royal Hospital

I worked on a placement at Bethlem Royal Hospital gaining valuable experience across many of the units that the hospital has. I sat in many ward rounds including units for women and men. I was able to shadow Doctors working with patients on a Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit. I was also able to assist on a smoking cessation program in their medium secure unit, River House, where I met with a variety of forensic inpatients.One of the most rewarding experiences was working with their occupational therapy teams to help inpatients gradually start getting their confidence back with day to day tasks to prepare them for going home. I also spent time at Foxley Lane which is a service for woman that provides assessment, treatment and care to people who can recognise the signs of their own deteriorating mental illness and are able to request the service themselves. Overall the experience I gained on the placement was invaluable. I was able to use my knowledge and understand how it can be applied within the mental health sector of the NHS.

Hsbc Sports And Social Club

I worked part time at HSBC Sports and Social Club providing an optimal service to all of the members. I hold responsibility for cash sales and customer liaison.
