Founded this self-development group for women in poverty in my home town of Durgapur. People donated sewing machines, on which women from poor neighbourhoods were taught sewing as a profession, and learn to be self-sufficient. We were able to collect 24 sewing machines and trained 72 women from the slums to sew. Seventeen of them have successfully created a sewing business following the training.
