Hi, my name is Tatum Beynon. I recently graduated with my BFA in Dance and Certificate in Arts Entrepreneurship from the University of Iowa. I graduated with Highest Distinction (4.0 GPA) and as a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society. Dance and the arts are at the center of my life. I am passionate about the arts as a sustainable career and want to use my knowledge in performance, administration, and instruction to design a well-rounded, fulfilling career path. I believe that dance has the potential to be the most honest expression of the human condition. As an artist, I strive to find the connection between the emotional body and the physical one as a way of relating to the world. In my teaching practice, I advocate that everyBODY can dance; I strive to use my classroom as a vehicle for inclusivity, creativity, and fun! My administration experience includes holding multiple positions in marketing and promotion, social media management, and writing/editing for both for-profit and non-profit organizations. This fall, I will be starting work as a dance teacher and administrator at Spotlight Dance Academy of Chicago in Norwood Park, as well as pursuing freelance performance and choreography opportunities in Chicago.
