In June 2005, I read an article in Harvard Business Review titled “How to play your strength,” written by scholars from Ross Business School, Michigan University. Soon after reading this, I knew I was falling in love with the Positive Organizational Scholarship (POS), an umbrella concept used to unify various approaches in organization studies, each of which incorporates the notion of “positive.” I’d found my calling.So I pursued my Ph.D. on this theme, specifically on resilience capacity, and now I devoted my teaching and research to positive business, positive emotion, positive leadership, and related ideas. I became inspired by bringing out the best in people and organizations. Positive thought and action could be a dominant path toward excellence. People and organizations on this path could produce meaningful and measurable changes toward increasing greatness. Increased thriving and engagement at work, more creativity, greater resilience, and greater overall well-being of individuals and organizations. Now, I routinely come to companies, and universities, happily delivering workshops to organizations that want to develop their positive climate in order to engage their best talent to be flourished.
