About Taulbee Jackson

I am a marketing consultant specializing in audience development, content supply chain and operations, and content strategy. I also serve as a Professor at the School of Journalism and Strategic Communication, College of Communication, Information and Media at Ball State University. I've provided content strategy and audience development consulting for Walmart, US Department of Defense, Super Bowl XLVI, XLVII, and XLVIII, Finish Line, Turner Sports, Klipsch, GoDaddy, the Indianapolis Colts, United Way, and more than 50 other national and global brands and organizations. I am also the author of “The Owned Media Doctrine: Real-Time Marketing Theory, Strategy, and Execution in the Real World”. In this book, co-authored with Erik Deckers, we outline in detail how brands can and should approach real-time content marketing strategy and execution, the concept of owned, earned and paid media, the Brand Newsroom approach to marketing operations, and omnichannel analytics. From 2023-2024, I advised ownership and the executive team at Willow Marketing, a small agency in Indianapolis, on their digital transformation and agency operations. From 2020-2023, I was Principal Consultant, as well as Founder, Partner and COO at Science & Magic, a digital customer experience consultancy built to help companies do more business online through customer journey orchestration, marketing automation, headless commerce, personalization, demand gen, and more. My ownership stake in Science and Magic was acquired by my partner and co-founder in 2023.Prior to Science and Magic, from 2009-2019, I was Founder and CEO at Raidious, an innovative, influential and award-winning digital agency, serving some of the world's largest brands. Raidious pioneered several modern marketing concepts, including the concept of Owned Media, Real-Time Marketing, Total Audience analytics, and the "brand newsroom" approach to marketing operations. Raidious was acquired by Mortenson Kim in 2019.I spent the early part of my career working in radio, TV, focused on audience development, brand strategy and consumer research. I hold a Master's degree in Digital Audience Strategy from the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University (Summa Cum Laude), and a BS in Communication from Indiana University (Cum Laude).
