Developed and implemented a technical and commercial strategy for Botswana's only credit insurer.

I am part of the team that was responsible for setting up Trade Credit & Surety Divisions in one of Zimbabwe's top insurance companies. I conducted financial and market analysis, designed and used detailed financial and underwriting models for new business development and transaction execution, which led to a stretch of 4 years with 0% loss ratio on the business underwritten thereby making significant contribution to the insurers top and bottomline. My role also extended to assisting some Credit Insurers in the SADC region with a view to ensuring their underwriting initiatives and programs are aligned to global best-practice and standards.Notable achievements in this role included:  Managed a trade credit insurance portfolio which facilitated trade valued at over ZAR100million between South Africa and Zimbabwe Managed trade credit insurance portfolios for various factoring companies, unlocking multimillion dollar credit lines from Afreximbank

I was responsible asset management for some of Zimbabwe's largest logistics companies through asset and inventory tracking.

As an Insurance Consultant I was responsible for updating and maintaining accurate client information in line with regulatory, compliance and KYC policies. I assisted underwriters with research on identified prospects as part of client acquisition process. I was part of the team that developed a insurance distribution partnership with a local energy company which resulted in the insurance company's insurance products being accessible in more than 10 fuel stations around Zimbabwe.

As a Trainee Underwriter I gained insight in reviewing insurance applications for compliance and adherence, assessing client's background information and financial status whilst liaising with other specialists to gather information and opinions on the clients.

As an Intern, I gained practical insights into underwriting, claims management, reinsurance placements and negotiation, risk management as well as back office operations. I gained valuable insight into the insurance environment in Zimbabwe.
