Currently using quantum computers to better understand the nature of folding of macromolecules like proteins, DNA and RNA is central to the problems in the fields of molecular bio-physics/chemistry, bioinformatics etc. Predicting the 3D structures of proteins is of paramount significance for efficient drug discovery, medicine, crop production and other biotechnology based applications. Although conventional methods make use of classical molecular modeling techniques such as molecular dynamics to understand the protein folding problem, the classical approach has its own limitations and the problem becomes almost intractable for real life macromolecules. With the onset of quantum revolution, we aim to use the state-of-the-art quantum computer and coarse grained based technique to efficiently predict the 3D structure of the proteins.

The Governor’s Committee on Scholastic Achievement is a non-profit organization that establishes meaningful relationships between high school students from New York City and volunteer mentors from the business community. In partnership with some of the largest and leading companies in the metropolitan area ( Google), the GCSA mentoring program’s mission is to empower youth with a unique opportunity to experience first-hand the “world of work,” develop relationships with mentors who can serve as role models and provide innovative guidance to students as they develop their goals and focus on their post-secondary future.

Code Nation equips students in under-resourced high schools with the skills, experiences, and connections that together create access to careers in technology. With a volunteer teaching corps that includes hundreds of professional web and software developers, Code Nation mobilizes the tech community to provide tuition-free coding courses and work-based learning programs that promote career readiness. Founded in 2012 (and formerly called ScriptEd), Code Nation currently reaches 1,500 students per year in 46 high schools in New York City and the San Francisco Bay Area.
