Cognos Decommission Project – BMO Harris Bank This project aimed at decommissioning COGNOS as a part of application rationalization, brought in annual savings in terms of licensing, labor and an immediate $630K cost avoidance for “end of life” product upgrade. Designed, built and implemented the following as per decommissioning plan: Provided help and guidelines to SAP Business Object (BOE) team in Data Analysis and Data Mapping. Fully maintained the Data Security, Object Security and Package Security throughout its entire lifecycle. Migrated over 260 Cognos reports to SAP Business Objects platform. Ensured drill-down, drill-through and crosstab functionalities successfully converted into BOE environment. Developed archiving and retrieval solution in case of systems rollback. During decommission process, maintained the integrity, security, performance and availability of Cognos environments. Supported day to day end-user issues, authentication/authorization/single sign on issues. Documented data profiling and quality assurance results, data dictionaries and analytical findings. Business Intelligence Analyst (Loan IQ - Application Enhancement and Support) Completed in-depth technical analysis for Loan IQ enhancement project. Closely worked with Business Analyst for the Optimization of Loaning system boosting revenue by 10.7%. Played an integral role for the cross-functional team to complete the project on-time and on-budget. The key responsibilities and deliverables: Created data mapping document for ETL Architect, Data Architect. Developed and implemented enterprise-scale data visualizations including reports and dashboards. Fully maintained the Data Security, Object Security and Package Security. Created stored procedures and scripts to automate or update a model. Created Drill Down/Drill through reports, bursting reports, filters and prompts for multi-dimensional analysis.

Interacted with system stakeholders, gathered and documented business requirements. Ensured security, administration, performance tuning and maintenance of complex BI reporting environments including Cognos and Business Objects. Analyzed risk and documented test scenarios to ensure it compliance with system requirements.

Led technical teams of 7 resources. Assisted managers in preparation of project plans, monitored project progress, and reported status to stakeholders. Played an instrumental role in supporting the Data Warehouse strategy and Business Intelligence initiatives. Performed data analysis to identify potential issues (i.e. data quality) or opportunities (i.e. trends) throughout the solution delivery life cycle.

Installed, configured and upgraded Cognos BI tools across different environments, with a focus on development, quality and production. Administered the BI platform including end to end performance tuning. Helped project team in development and execution of comprehensive test scripts and Test Plans.

Worked with the software development team to identify weaknesses and improve software quality. Worked as a team lead in TestPartner GUI Localization project in collaboration with outside vendor in China and Japan. All screens, menus, scripts and error messages were translated in Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and Simplified Chinese languages.
