After completing a Bachelor's Degree in Film Studies (focusing on Film History and Theory), and a Masters Degree in Moving Image Archiving, I was hired as the University of Utah’s first Moving Image & Sound Archivist. After working to create a successful Moving Image & Sound Archives Program within the J. Willard Marriott Library, I moved on to become the University’s first Digital Preservation Archivist, charged with developing a sustainable digital preservation program for the Library. I'm now the Head of the Digital Preservation department at the same library. Over the years, I’ve gained significant experience in research methods, policy writing, grant writing, project and program management, teaching, community outreach, and collaborative client relations. Other related interests include advocating for increased media literacy programs for children (and adults) and exploring and implementing environmentally sustainable digital preservation practices.
