During my free time throughout the coronavirus pandemic, ZillennialWomen was a project to spotlight young women in their early-to-mid twenties who were on the pathway to become the leaders of the future. I took on this passion project to write articles about inspirational young women and other women's issues and topics. In tandem with the blog, I managed the @ZillennialWomen instagram and Facebook pages, which featured additional content about women's empowerment.

As part of the Death Penalty Clinic team, I collaborated with the legal team to investigate options for possible pathways forward and collected information for exonerating and clearing clients sentenced to death in Texas. I also conducted background research to inform legal decisions and actions and extensively reviewed case files to uncover new evidence and re-examine old evidence to uncover new avenues for exoneration.

Kurani is an architecture firm that believes the physical places where students learn have a monumental influence on how they learn. They partner with education providers to build physical spaces that inspire creativity and innovation among students and teachers, often addressing social issues like poverty and racial inequality in the process. As Kurani is a small company, I had the opportunity to take on a meaningful role in the development of the organization. In my position, I identified key strategic moves with the founder in order to increase the company's long-term sustainability and deliver a high quality service to clients. I also worked alongside our marketing and publicity team to promote our business and recruit clients.

I served as an intern in the Department of State, specifically working in their bureau responsible for for international human rights. Coordinated and worked with the United Nations in both New York and Geneva. The team I worked with analyzed resolutions proposed to the Human Rights Council and Third Committee of the UN General Assembly and mediated the conversation about these resolutions in the United States, trying to reach a consensus opinion. We then would relay that opinion to UN representatives from the United States so they know how to best represent the priorities of the US in the UN decision-making process. The office's aim is to improve policy regarding humanitarian efforts and assistance, women’s issues, democracy promotion, and other human-rights-related issues.Concurrently, I was honored as a Summer Fellow for Rice University's Baker Insitute, conducting policy research related to my work and submitting a synthesis paper in the fall.

During my freshman year of college, I served as part of an engineering team to create a walking-aid device which is now used at the Harmony Children’s Disability Center, a physical therapy clinic located at a refugee camp in Bubuduram, Ghana. We consulted with physical therapists in Houston and Ghana to personally tailor the device to best fit the client’s needs. I also conducted research on the physical therapy device market to find estimates for pricing and design.
