In the emergency department, I spent my time working under the Attending Physicians and alongside Nurses. As a tech, I have learned a wide scope of things from collecting vital signs in pediatric patients, to performing chest compressions during critical situations. We acted as safety attendants with behavioral patients, learning to watch for triggers and recognizing the importance of mental health awareness. Annually, we were re-certified in BLS (Basic Life Support) and QBS (Quality Behavioral Competencies).
