Primary Focus: Collaborate with the International Crane Foundation (ICF) to enhance and expand conservation activities in Uganda, with a particular focus on the Lwengo District.Key Responsibilities:1. Project Leadership and Implementation:a. Oversee and execute ICF/EWT Partnership projects in southcentral Uganda, initially focusing on the Lwengo District.b. Implement comprehensive conservation strategies to safeguard grey crowned cranes, their habitats, and the communities that coexist with them.2. Data Collection and Monitoring: Conduct rigorous baseline data collection on crane populations, wetland ecosystems, and community dynamics.3. Threat Mitigation:a. Actively engage in mitigating identified threats to grey crowned cranes, such as illegal trade, powerline collisions, and other emerging hazards.b. Develop and implement effective strategies to minimize these threats and safeguard crane populations.4. Integrated Conservation Approach:Collaborate with relevant partners, including government agencies, local communities, and other stakeholders, to implement integrated conservation initiatives.5. Community Engagement and Outreach:Conduct community awareness campaigns to educate the public about the importance of crane conservation, wetland protection, and the integrated family planning and human health aspects of the organization's projects.6.
