After graduating from primary school at his homeland Urla - İzmir; he completed his high school education in England and he got his university degree in Belgium.He started his professional life as Human Resource staff at Pullman Etap İzmir Hotel.Tayfun worked at all levels of front of housedepartments during his 14 years.He executed his first General Management experience at the 5 star Cesars Hotel inBodrum between 1992 - 1995.After Cesars Hotel, he worked for Martı Hotels and Marinas for 8 years. Beside his general manager responsibilities for the 5 star Martı Resort de Luxe and 4 star Martı La Perla, he was also member of the board and executive committee for the last 3 years. In 2005, he was appointed as Projects and Investments Coordinator at the company head office.Between 2005 - 2014, he worked as General Manager of Çeşme Altın Yunus Thermal Resort Hotel. In addition to his General Management duties, in 2011, he was appointed as Tourism Coordinator of Yasar Holding and became a Member of the Board. In 2010, he was elected as one of the '100 most successful CEO of Crisis' by CNBC-E Business Magazine in Turkey. Tayfun Başkurt was 30th in General Ranking. Tayfun ranked 7th for 'Dept Structure' due to his skills with long term corporate restructuring.He worked for Martı Hotels and Marinas from February 2015 to October 2016 as General Manager of Martı Resort and Martı La Perla at Marmaris. He worked for Sheraton Çeşme Hotel, Resort & Spa as General Manager from October 2016 to October 2018.He posted as a Cluster General Manager for Alaçatı Region Çeşme From February 2019 to March 2021 ( FTI Group - Meeting Point Hotels Turkey)He was also responsible for two 5 Star Hotels and Luxury Hotel & Beach Club. With more than 35 years of experience in tourism; Tayfun Başkurt believes in the importance of professional associations and non governmental organisations within the industry.
