About Tayla E.
Since graduating from the University of Chichester, I have done a variety of different jobs in different sectors. Majority of this work has been self employment including teaching and performing. Teaching wise I have taught with a few different companies and a variety of ages from 5-18. Working with different companies is great as I get to network with different people and hear about opportunities within the community. Teaching Drama and Musical Theatre is not only fun but also rewarding. I love how you can give the children an opportunity to be someone else for an hour. Taking a practical class into a classroom to a variety of children, some who has never experienced Drama before, and seeing them loose themselves for an hour is the best reward. As well as teaching I have done some professional performing within the industry. I have done a variety of different things including: Fringe plays, Musicals and Nightclub events. Every performance I have done has been different for various reasons- Directors, location, companies etc. My most recent tour of 'The Clumsiest Elf' was the most rewarding show I have done. Seeing children's faces light up and see the magic of Christmas unfold in front of them was amazing. It was also great to see the company book schools and community centres, as it gives children and their families an opportunity to see the show in a way they may not be able to conventionally.

Musical Theatre Teacher
As the Musical Theatre teacher at the Eastbourne Academy, my job is to teach the children a range of disciplines including dancing, what makes a performance, singing and different techniques which we then put towards an end informal show. Every three years we take the children to the West End for them to make their professional debut.

As a supervisor I had all sorts of responsibilities. This included: Cashing up the tills at the end of the day, opening and closing the pub, running shifts, dealing with different kinds of feedback from customers, social media uploads, kitchen work and training team members.As I worked my way up to Supervisor I took on more responsibilities. This gave me the knowledge to handle different responsibilities together effectively. Especially running a shift in a busy restaurant, it was important I had eyes everywhere as well as doing my allocated section for the day. I gained confidence with allocating the correct roles to the correct people to help the shifts run smoothly. Being a customer facing role, I had to be confident with talking to a variety of different people throughout the day. With doing this on a daily basis, it has helped me gain confidence in speaking to new people with the correct manor tailoring to the situation. All the skills I learnt within Youngs I will carry with me in not only future work environments but in my personal life too.
